Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and AllWriter (“we”, “us”), who operate AllWriter at allwriter.org. By creating an account you accept them. If you are using AllWriter for a company, you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf.

1. What AllWriter does

AllWriter writes text to your brief: articles, product descriptions, marketing copy and similar material. It does this by sending your instructions to artificial-intelligence models run by other companies and returning what they produce. One subscription gives you access to the models included in your plan.

AllWriter produces text only. It does not generate images, audio or video, and it is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind. It is a finished writing tool for end users, not a resold API: access is through our own interface, and we do not sell onward access to the model providers behind it.

AllWriter is for business and everyday writing only. Adult, NSFW, pornographic and sexually explicit content is not allowed anywhere on the service — see section 9.

2. Your account

You need an account to use AllWriter. You must be at least 18 years old. Give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account. Everything done through your account is treated as done by you.

One person or company, one account. Sharing a single account across a team is not what plans are priced for; if you need several seats, write to us.

3. Free credits

New accounts receive a number of free credits once the email address is confirmed. The current amount is shown on the site. Free credits exist so you can judge the service before paying. They carry no cash value, cannot be transferred or refunded, and we may change the amount, or stop offering them, at any time. Creating extra accounts to collect free credits again is not allowed.

4. Plans, credits and payment

Work is measured in credits. Each model charges a set number of credits per thousand characters of the text it writes, counting characters without spaces. The rate for the model you picked is shown in Studio before you run anything, and the exact amount is confirmed once the text is done.

  • Subscriptions are monthly and renew automatically until you cancel. Each renewal adds that month's credits.
  • Monthly credits expire at the end of the billing period they belong to. They do not roll over.
  • Credit packs and top-ups are one-off purchases. Those credits never expire.
  • Spending order: monthly credits are used first, then purchased credits. That way the credits with an expiry date get used before the ones without.

Because the length of a text is only known once it is written, we hold an estimated number of credits before a job starts and settle the real amount afterwards, returning the difference. If a text turns out longer than the estimate, your balance can go slightly below zero; the shortfall is taken from your next credits.

Payments are handled by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record for every purchase. Creem takes the payment, issues the receipt and is responsible for sales tax and VAT where these apply. Your card details go to Creem and never reach our servers. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that Creem adds at checkout.

5. Changing or cancelling a plan

You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan and its remaining monthly credits stay usable until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate a part-used month.

When you move to a bigger plan we can start it immediately, in which case the difference in credits is added straight away, or at the next renewal — you choose at the time. Purchased credits are not affected by plan changes.

6. Refunds

Credits can be spent the moment they arrive, so purchases are generally final. Where we can refund, and how to ask, is set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in it limits rights you have under the consumer law of your own country.

7. Your text, and what you can do with it

What you type in stays yours. What the models write for you is yours too: we claim no ownership of it and place no restriction on using it commercially. You are free to publish, sell and adapt it.

Two honest caveats. First, AI output is not always protected by copyright, and the rules differ from country to country — if that matters to your business, take advice. Second, models can produce similar text for different people from similar instructions, so we cannot promise your text is unique in the world.

We store your prompts and the resulting texts so you can find them again. We do not use them to train models, and we do not show them to anyone else. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

8. Check the text before you use it

AI models get things wrong. They invent facts, names, quotes, dates, prices and sources, and they do it fluently enough to be convincing. Everything AllWriter produces is a draft. Read it, check any claim that matters, and take responsibility for what you publish. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical decisions.

9. Acceptable use — what you must not do

This section is our Acceptable Use Policy and forms part of these terms.

No adult or sexually explicit content

AllWriter is a business writing tool. You may not use it to generate, edit, rewrite, translate or store adult, NSFW, pornographic, sexually explicit or erotic content of any kind. This includes, and is not limited to:

  • pornographic or sexually explicit writing, erotica and sexual roleplay of any kind;
  • AI companions, virtual girlfriends or boyfriends, romantic partner personas and NSFW chatbots built on top of AllWriter;
  • sexual descriptions of real, identifiable people, whether or not they consent;
  • marketing, listing or landing-page copy for pornography, escort services, adult webcam sites, sex work or adult subscription platforms;
  • anything that sexualises a minor, in any form, real or fictional. This is an absolute prohibition and we report it where the law requires.

The ban applies whether the people described are real or invented, whatever the artistic or research justification offered, and whether the output is for publication or private use. It applies to what you type in as well as to what the models write back. Accounts used this way are closed immediately and without a refund, and we may report unlawful material to the authorities.

We do not disable or work around the safety systems of the AI providers behind AllWriter, and we do not offer an "uncensored" or "unfiltered" mode. Requests of this kind are refused by the models themselves as well as by these terms.

Everything else you must not do

  • Break the law, or help anyone else to.
  • Produce material that incites violence or hatred, threatens people, or harasses a person.
  • Impersonate a real person or organisation, or pass off text as coming from someone it does not.
  • Create disinformation, fake reviews, fake testimonials or fake news.
  • Generate bulk spam, or content designed to deceive search engines rather than inform readers.
  • Produce academic work — essays, dissertations, assignments — to be handed in as your own.
  • Write material promoting gambling, illegal drugs, weapons, or other goods and services that may not lawfully be advertised where you are.
  • Infringe someone else's copyright, trade mark or confidential information.
  • Feed in other people's personal data without a lawful reason to do so.
  • Resell AllWriter as your own service, or use it to build a competing product.
  • Probe, overload or work around the technical limits of the service, or use automated means to access it other than through features we provide.

The models we use have their own rules, set by the companies that run them, and those rules apply to your use as well. A refusal from a model is not a fault in AllWriter.

If you are not sure whether something is allowed, ask us at support@allwriter.org before you run it.

10. Availability

We work to keep AllWriter running, but we do not promise it will always be available. Maintenance, failures at a model provider, and problems at our hosting or payment partners can all interrupt it. Model line-ups change: providers retire models and release new ones, and we add and remove them accordingly. If a model on your plan disappears, we will offer a comparable one.

11. Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used fraudulently, or where a payment is reversed. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. If we close your account without cause, we will refund unused purchased credits and the unused part of the current subscription period.

You can close your account yourself at any time. Doing so ends your subscription and forfeits any remaining credits.

12. No warranty

AllWriter is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and none that its output will be accurate, original or suitable for publication.

13. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost revenue, lost data, lost business or any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using AllWriter after that means you accept the new version. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.
